Dr. David Spragg is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins, specializing in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology.

He attended Harvard College (BA, ’93, Comparative Study of Religion) and the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons (MD, ‘98), interrupting his medical training for one year to work as a Sarnoff Fellow in Cardiovascular Research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
After completing medical internship and residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, he came to Johns Hopkins as a Cardiology Fellow in 2001. He has stayed, completing Cardiology and Electrophysiology fellowships, and joining the faculty in 2007.

Dr. Spragg’s interests include device- and ablation-based therapies for cardiac arrhythmias, and particularly in improving outcomes for patients undergoing ablation for atrial fibrillation.
He is the director of the Atrial Fibrillation Research Center at Johns Hopkins.
