The Lederman lab creates new non-surgical catheter-based cardiovascular procedures and introduces them into medical practice in collaboration with leading interventional cardiology programs.

Projects have included transcatheter electrosurgery procedures such as transcaval access, LAMPOON and ELASTIC mitral leaflet modification to enable transcatheter mitral valve implantation (TMVR), and BASILICA aortic leaflet modification to prevent coronary artery obstruction during transcatheter aortic valve implantation .

More recently, the lab has been developing myocardial interstitial navigation technologies, including cerclage ventriculoplasty and MIRTH ventriculoplasty to reshape the failing heart, SESAME transcatheter myotomy to treat left ventricular outflow tract obstruction that complicates hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and TMVR, and VINTAGE intramural electrophysiologic ablation of difficult-to-reach targets causing ventricular arrhythmias.
