He received the B. S. degree, the M. S. degree in information and communication
engineering, and the Ph. D. degree in electronic engineering, all from the University of
Tokyo, in 1998, 2000, and 2003, respectively. From Apr. 2003 to Jun. 2006, he was an
assistant professor at Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics,
Graduate School of Dentistry, Osaka University. He became a lecturer at Department of
Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Osaka University Dental Hospital in Jul.
2006. Then in Mar. 2008, a specially appointed associate professor at the Center for
Advanced Medical Engineering and Informatics (reorganized as Global Center for
Medical Engineering and Informatics in 2015) (MEI Center), and a specially appointed
associate professor, at Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University since Mar. 2017.
Currently, he has been an endowed course associate professor, at Division of Health
Sciences, Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University since Apr. 2022.
He also completed the Stanford Biodesign Global Faculty in Training in 2014, and has
also been a program director of Japan Biodesign from 2015.
